Checkers by Drueke
Drueke is a company as classic as the games they manufacture. With over 90 years in the business, their history is as proud as the products they sell. In the early 20th century all chess sets sold in the United States were manufactured in Europe. With the outbreak of World War I in 1914, the supply of chess sets to the U.S. ceased. In response, William F. Drueke, a skilled hand carver and wood worker, began supplying Marshall Fields' stores in Chicago with wooden chess sets and chess pieces.
